Named after a popular ski mountain in Canada, this spacious tiny home was designed to meet the needs of family lifestyles, from cozy and spacious bedrooms to high-quality appliances and inviting social areas. The Cypress can comfortably accommodate at least six people and even as many as eight without having to sacrifice the family-sized kitchen or the gorgeous living room with a contemporary design.
Cypress is the biggest in the luxury portable cottage series offered by the family-operated Rover Tiny Homes. It boasts 658 square feet (61 square meters) of floor space and cozy accommodation for at least six people in three bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is located on the main floor, at the end of a small hallway. It's fully private and also luminous thanks to large windows, and it's the best option for those who prefer a traditional bedroom.

A compact staircase with carpeted treads leads to the other two bedrooms. To the left, you'll find the door to one bedroom with a convenient landing and a loft bed. A miniature ladder connects the loft bed to the landing. The floor is fully carpeted for extra comfort, and large windows create a feeling of openness. The landing offers enough space for additional furniture and even storage, doubling as a tiny but lovely lounge area for this cozy bedroom. The door keeps it private, which is important considering how close this bedroom is to the second one on this level.

This layout is perfect for families with small children. While the parents' bedroom comes with a traditional door for privacy, it's also close enough to the kids' room to make sure the children are safe at all times. This third room is a traditional loft with carpeted flooring, one window, and a fixed ladder for access. Stalked windows between the two rooms add much-needed natural light to this loft area, preventing it from becoming too dark or isolated.

Downstairs, a gorgeous living room takes center stage. There's nothing rustic or boring about this spacious lounge, upgraded with ample glazing. The French doors provide direct access from the outside, which keeps this lounge connected to its natural surroundings. Elegant, oversized windows on one side create the perfect panoramic view any time of the day. Thanks to the oversized windows and glass doors, the living room almost feels like one of those luxurious indoor/outdoor lounges where the line between the inside and the outside is blurred.

At the same time, this spacious living room transitions seamlessly into the kitchen area, which is another trendy design feature. The kitchen was carefully designed to be big enough to match the needs of a family or a larger guest group, given the home's generous accommodation capacity.

Two large quartz countertops provide a big cooking surface, while also incorporating full-size stainless steel appliances. All the basic appliances are included in the price as standard features. As for storage, even a big family will be satisfied with all the cabinets, cupboards, and drawers cleverly integrated throughout.

As a bonus, one of the countertops doubles as a modern snack bar with enough seating for everyone in the house. Multi-functionality is a good way to use the available space as efficiently as possible without creating clutter. The spacious living room can also easily double as a dining room, and even the main floor bedroom at the end of the hallway can be seen as a multi-purpose space that can be adapted to the needs and lifestyle of each owner.

The standard appliances also include an apartment-style washer/dryer unit in the bathroom. Like all other Rover portable cottages, the Cypress features a full-size bathtub, which instantly adds a luxurious, cozy feel to its spacious bathroom. In fact, this is what makes the Cypress so impressive among tiny homes: it successfully ramps up accommodation without having to sacrifice the size or design of any other room, including the bathroom.

Custom-made high-end cabinets, vinyl plank floors, and timber features are part of the standard features of all the Rover portable cottages, along with the quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances. Another important feature they all have in common is the elegant combination of high ceilings (10 feet/3 meters) with large windows, which is largely responsible for that unique modern-rustic look.

Unlike the other models in the range, which can be built in any of three certifications – A277, Z240-MH, and Z241 – the Cypress is certified as an A277 and Z240-MH. It's built and equipped to ensure year-round comfort for six to eight people, while the rugged metal siding makes it almost maintenance-free. As the largest model, it also comes with a hefty price tag of CAD 199,900 ($143,000), but the engineering behind this highly efficient layout and the flawless craftsmanship fully justify it.

They say that the end result must look deceivingly effortless no matter how much work it takes to get there. In the case of the Cypress portable cottage, that's certainly true: being inside this dwelling feels instantly like home, and the remarkable fluidity all throughout, including the generous height, feels totally natural, even though it took a great deal of work to meet the certification standards and ensure the highest comfort level as well.

Luckily, the team behind the Cypress had plenty of experience in traditional building before delving into the realm of tiny house construction, and it shows in the quality and innovation of each model.
